COMFORTABLE SONIA RYKIEL

When I looked outside my window the snow was still there.
This coat would be great to wear today.
Don't you love the boots of Chanel? (click on image to enlarge)

I'm off again. Today I'm starting a great new project.

Enjoy,
Nancy

FASHION IN MANY COLOURS AND FLAVOURS

(Dior and Gaultier)

Today was a great day. I visited not one but 3 exhibitions!
When you think of boats and sailors, Haute Couture isn't the first you will be thinking of. But 'Ahoy Fashion', a small exhibition, was a great opportunity to see amazing gowns of Gaultier, Chanel, Dior, Viktor&Rolf and Vivienne Westwood, within touching distance! All designs are inspired by sailors and captains uniforms.

With my great friend Hannie I then visited the crowed 'All eyes on Kees van Dongen'. In the ‘wardrobe carousel’ designed by Studio Wieki Somers, we could hang up our own coats and hoist them upwards. During the visit, the coat becomes part of the museum collection.

The exhibition presented a wide-ranging view of the Dutch-born artist Kees van Dongen, who became world famous in Paris for his colourful portraits of women. Women with huge eyes, acrobats, nudes, women dressed in couture by the designer Paul Poiret. Van Dongen shared a studio with Pablo Picasso in Paris. Now we didn't get the opportunity to get the chance to get to close to the original. We unexpectedly also walked into the exhibition of famous Dutch designer Hella Jongerius.

Yes, talent is always in Fashion! Time to go home after a colourful day of art. While putting on my coat, I looked into the mirror, I was wearing black, head to toes! Hannie was dressed in white. Head to Toes! Hmmmmm?!

Enjoy,
